Eversheds Sutherland advises on solar power plant in KSA

Eversheds Sutherland and AlDhabaan & Partners, in association with Eversheds Sutherland, provided legal advisory services to Riyadh Bank and Arab Petroleum Investments Corporation, as senior lenders, to a consortium comprising of TotalEnergies, Toyota Tsusho and Altaaqa Renewable Energy (Zahid Group), on the financing and development of a 120 MW solar photovoltaic power plant in Wadi-Al-Dawasir, Saudi Arabia. The plant is expected to be operational by early 2025. 

The consortium has secured a Power Purchase Agreement with the Saudi Power Procurement Company, and construction of the plant will be carried out by Chinese company SEPCO.  

The Eversheds Sutherland team was led by partner & head of projects – Middle East, Ashley Halewood, with support from partner Clint Dempsey, principal associate Peter Greenall, senior associates Adite Aloke and Gaurav Jain, trainees Nada Ramzy and Fawzi Mashal, along with partner Ibrahim Alsultan, senior associate Sikander Siddiqui and associate Abdulrahman Alrashid of AlDhabaan & Partners in association with Eversheds Sutherland.
