Saudi Arabian Al Fahad & Partners joins King & Spalding
King & Spalding announced that Saudi Arabian firm Al Fahad & Partners has joined the firm in Riyadh.
The newly combined entity will operate under the name “King & Spalding Al Fahad”.
Al Fahad & Partners, established in 1985, specialises in a diverse range of legal areas, including energy, capital markets, corporate and commercial law, regulatory matters, real estate, litigation and dispute resolution. Besides founding partner Abdulaziz H. Al Fahad, partners Fahad N. Alarfaj, Ibrahim Alkhudair, and English-qualified lawyer Phil Loynes are also joining forces with King & Spalding.
The combination
The combination will result in an office of 26 fee-earners, mostly Saudi Arabian nationals. They will focus on a wide variety of matters, including corporate law, finance, energy and real estate, Islamic finance, funds, construction projects, M&A and dispute resolution.

King & Spalding’s foundation traces back to 140 years ago. Today, the firm is an international firm with 1,300 lawyers operating in 24 offices across the US, Europe, the Middle East and Asia. In 2023 the firm was granted a foreign law licence by Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Justice. A year later, In July 2024, Haifa Bahaian, former Chief Legal Officer of the Saudi Venture Capital Company (SVC) joined the team.
Since establishing an affiliation in Saudi Arabia in 2007, King & Spalding has played an active role in several projects across the region. The firm has supported various initiatives aligned with the Saudi Vision 2030 plan, which aims at economy diversification, modern industry standards, and more international investment. Notable engagements include advising NEOM on an $8.4 billion green hydrogen and ammonia megaproject, as well as guiding Azmeel Contracting through a landmark $2 billion restructuring in Saudi Arabia.
