Qanooni AI launches legal AI tool

Qanooni AI, a UAE-based legal technology company, has introduced the country’s first artificial intelligence (AI) tool developed locally and designed exclusively for law firms. Co-founded by Chief Executive Officer, Anuscha Iqbal (pictured), Chief Tech Engineer, Ziyaad Ahmed, and Chief Legal Director, Karim Shiyab, Qanooni AI supports end-to-end legal workflows—integrating with platforms such as Microsoft Word and Outlook for research, drafting, and document review.

The goal

“Qanooni AI represents a new chapter in legal practice, empowering firms to work smarter while maintaining the highest standards of security and accuracy. Our mission is to provide tools that lawyers trust to elevate their work and exceed client expectations,” said Ms Iqbal. According to Mr Ahmed, “Qanooni AI is about redefining how lawyers operate. With nearly a decade of experience in AI and Machine Learning applications, I’ve seen firsthand how technology can transform industries. With Qanooni, we’re applying that transformation to legal practice, enabling faster, more accurate, and innovative workflows.”

The tool

The company states that it has developed its platform specifically to address the unique needs of law firms, focusing on enterprise-grade security and straightforward adoption without complex setups. Over 650 legal professionals have reportedly joined the waitlist, reflecting a growing interest in technology solutions for the GCC’s evolving legal sector.

“Having worked extensively across the GCC legal sector, I’ve witnessed the challenges lawyers face in keeping up with increasing demands. Qanooni was created to address these challenges, offering a localized, highly secure, and effective solution that fits perfectly into the unique legal landscape,” said Mr Shiyab.
