DIAC and Opus 2 announce technology partnership

Today, Dubai International Arbitration Centre (DIAC) a prominent arbitral institution operating in the Middle East, Africa and South Asia (MEASA) region, and Opus 2, a British legal tech firm providing cloud-based software and services for the legal and dispute resolution sectors,  announced an agreement for a strategic technology partnership.

The platform

Amongst the core matters of this collaboration is the imminent launch of a digital arbitration platform, with the ultimate goal of consolidating DIAC’s internal systems and processes. Following this evolution, all actors involved within any arbitration process – that is to say parties, legal practitioners, neutrals, and the Secretariat itself – will benefit from enhanced connectivity and cybersecurity standards.

The integrated platform will therefore simplify DIAC’s legal proceedings through an e-filing application for documents, forms, and payments, a case registration system for efficient review and data capture, and a secure portal for submitting and accessing case documents

A renewed hearing solution

Beyond the arbitration solution, DIAC’s users will also be granted access to Opus2’s suite of integrated hearing techs and services. The service includes a brand new dynamic services request portal, where parties and legal practitioners will be able to book a wide variety of documentation and services, all streamlined to respect the Centre’s regulatory standards.

Both Oliver McClintock (pictured left), Chief Commercial Officer at Opus 2, and Jehad Kazim (pictured right), Executive Director of Dubai International Arbitration Centre, expressed their utmost satisfaction for the agreement, driven by a “shared commitment to transform dispute resolutions”.
