Meysan has won a case in an administrative court

In a significant legal victory, Meysan achieved an unprecedented outcome by securing an administrative court ruling that overturned a decision made by Kuwait’s Capital Markets Authority (CMA).

The case centred around a shareholder in a local logistics company who filed a whistleblower complaint with the CMA. The complaint alleged that the company had failed to adequately comply with local disclosure requirements, particularly related to its financial accounts. However, the CMA dismissed the complaint without further consideration.

Undeterred, Meysan represented the shareholder in an appeal before Kuwait’s administrative courts. In a seminal ruling, the court established that the CMA cannot summarily dismiss a whistleblower complaint when parallel judicial judgments support the allegations.
