Mazghouny & Co Facilitates Scatec – EgyptAlum Deal
Mazghouny & Co has provided legal counsel to Scatec, a Norwegian renewable energy developer, in its collaboration with Misr Aluminium Company (EgyptAlum). The agreement, inked on February 20, 2024, focuses on the development of a groundbreaking 1GW solar PV power project.
This initiative, set in Nagaa Hammadi in Southern Egypt, is poised to become the largest project in Egypt’s commercial and industrial (C&I) sector. It aims to power segments of EgyptAlum’s aluminium facility while contributing to the company’s sustainability objectives.
EgyptAlum, affiliated with Egypt’s Metallurgical Industries Holding Company, has been a key player in the country’s aluminium production since 1975, boasting a substantial annual capacity and diverse product range.
Mazghouny & Co Energy & Power team, led by Managing Partner Donia El-Mazghouny (pictured), has supported Scatec with the drafting of the cooperation agreement for this landmark project and its negotiation with EgyptAlum.
