Karim A. Youssef elected vice-chair of CRCICA

Karim A. Youssef (pictured), CEO and Chairman at Youssef + Partners, has been elected vice-chair of the Cairo Regional Centre for International Commercial Arbitration (CRCICA) Advisory Board 2024-2028.

Committee members

Karim A. Youssef will serve as vice-chair alongside Samaa Haridi of King & Spalding and with Craig Tevendale, of Herbert Smith Freehills in London, as chair. The committeee also consists of
Mr. Girgis Abd El-Shahid, Prof. Dr. Mohamed Abdel Raouf, Mr. Tarek Badawy, Dr. Kilian Bälz Mr. Lijun Cao Mr. Mark Demitry Ms. Carine Dupeyron Judge Ismail El Zyady Mr. Ahmed Ibrahim Mr. Dany Khayat Dr. Amel Makhlouf Eng. Aisha Nadar Ms. Tatyana Neveeva Mr. Tunde Ogunseitan FCIArb and Mr. Mohamed Shelbaya.

About the committee

The advisory committee is responsible for providing reasoned decisions on issues such as arbitrator challenges and consolidation requests. CRCICA, providing a system of dispute settlement for parties engaged in trade, commerce and investment, says the committee will play an important role in implementing the center’s new arbitration rules, which entered into force in January.

In honor of the occasion Youssef stated:  “I am particularly pleased at the new composition of the committee, considering how diverse and cosmopolitan it is, with 10 nationalities and numerous distinguished women and young practitioners. It reflects how the center itself has been evolving over recent years to be one of the most relevant and important regional institutions, thanks to the efforts of Dr. Ismail Selim and before him Dr. Mohamed Abdel Raouf“.
