Legal Expert Tarek Saad Joins BLK Partners’ Legal Team 

Khalid El Tamimi, in collaboration with BLK Partners, has appointed Tarek Saad (pictured) as a Partner, specializing in General Litigation and Shipping Disputes. In this role, Saad will also take on the responsibilities of Head of Transportation, Logistics, and Insurance within the dynamic legal landscape of the MENA region. 

With a remarkable legal career spanning over 29 years in EMEA, including an impressive 17-year tenure as a partner at Baker McKenzie in the GCC, Tarek Saad brings a wealth of experience to his new role.

Tarek Saad’s extensive expertise covers a wide spectrum of legal domains. He excels in managing high-profile commercial litigation and navigating complex maritime, insurance, civil, real estate, criminal, labor, and intellectual property disputes. His specialization extends to the drafting of maritime and shipping legislation in the United Arab Emirates, a testament to his profound understanding of the region’s legal framework.

In the maritime sector, Tarek Saad has built a remarkable track record by successfully handling cases before the local courts of Dubai and Abu Dhabi. His cases have encompassed a wide array of issues, including claims for shortage, damages, towage and marine salvage disputes, vessel explosions, pollution matters, casualties at sea, general average concerns, ship arrests (provisional attachments), charter disputes, and insurance settlements in maritime disputes. 

Tarek Saad is an active contributor to the legal community, serving as a member of the Dubai Council for Marine & Maritime Industries (DCMMI) and holding the position of Board Member for the Consultants at the Abu Dhabi School of Law.
