Rizkana & Partners Triumphs in Trademark Infringement Case
Rizkana & Partners’ (R&P) litigation team has successfully represented its conglomerate French client in the stationary sector in a trademark infringement case in Egypt.
R&P obtained a positive ruling for its client, leading to the deregistration of the respondent’s registered trademark. This ruling was based on the respondent’s non-usage of the trademark and registering it in bad faith, with the intention of depriving the claimant of its rightful use. The case was a prolonged battle fought on two fronts, in both the Economic Court and the Administrative Court.
The litigation team was led by Managing Partner Hazim A. Rizkana (pictured) and including Council Amr Ibrahim, Abd El Rahman Mokhtar, and Mahmoud Menyawy.
R&P is a member of AEPPI, the National Group of AIPPI, with Hazim A. Rizkana serving as the secretary of AEPPI. AIPPI is a global network of IP lawyers, and R&P’s affiliation enhances its ability to assist clients in local and international IP matters while contributing to the advancement of IP in Egypt and globally.
