QatarEnergy acquires a 30% interest in Lebanese offshore gas fields
QatarEnergy, in partnership with TotalEnergies and Eni, has signed agreements with the Lebanese government to become a stakeholder in two offshore exploration blocks in Lebanon.
QatarEnergy will hold a 30% working interest in Blocks 4 and 9, marking their first exploration venture in the country. TotalEnergies and Eni will each retain a 35% interest in the blocks.
Blocks 4 and 9 cover a total area of 1,911 and 1,749 square kms respectively and are located in water depths of approximately 1,500 and 1,700 meters. The legal team at QatarEnergy is led by General Counsel and Board Secretary, Mohammed Al-Mannai.
