Michael Hartley new partner at DWF
Michael Hartley (pictured) has joined DWF, as new dispute resolution partner in Dubai. He moves to his new position after four years as partner for the Dubai-based firm Mantle Law.
The profile
Hartley has significant experience in energy, construction, and infrastructure (both onshore and offshore). He has handled complex, large-scale international disputes before courts and arbitration centers, including in London, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Singapore, and the International Chamber of Commerce. He has worked with expert counsel across various Middle Eastern jurisdictions.
James Fox, managing partner for DWF in Dubai, expressed his appreciation for the new hire: “We continue to enhance our practice and deepen our capabilities in the Middle East. Over the past two years, we have made significant strides in expanding our presence in Dubai, with seven new partner hires since the beginning of 2023. This is helping us to strengthen our relationships with existing clients and win new mandates.”
This latest hire indeed further increase the firm’s regional energy sector team, which now counts 80 partners. More widely his arrival reflects DWF’s ongoing expansion in the UAE and the wider Middle East region.
