Matouk Bassiouny & Hennawy (MBH) is proud to share its latest achievement in the renewable energy sector. MBH has successfully advised the TSFE Infrastructure & Utilities Sub Fund (TSFE) on behalf of the New and Renewable Energy Authority (NREA), The Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company (EETC), and Suez Canal Economic Zone Authority (SCZONE), in negotiating a framework agreement with C2X LTD (C2X), a subsidiary of A.P. Møller Holding A/S and A.P. MOLLER – MAERSK A/S, to develop a green fuel project in Egypt.

The project will involve the construction of renewable energy power plants, green hydrogen/ green methanol manufacturing facility, and other related facilities. The project aims to support Egypt’s transition to a low-carbon economy and enhance its energy security and diversification.

The framework agreement was signed in the presence of the Egyptian Prime Minister, Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy, and Minister of Planning and Economic Development, at the New Administrative Capital.

MBH’s team was led by Mahmoud Bassiouny, Regional Managing Partner and Group Head of Finance & Projects, and included Amgad Nagy, Associate, and Habiba Gamaleldin, Junior Associate.
