Freshfields Guides DP World in Seafreight Business Deal
Global law firm Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer (‘Freshfields’) is advising in DP World’s latest move within the global supply chain landscape. Freshfields is advising DP World, the renowned company in global supply chain solutions headquartered in Dubai, on its planned acquisition of 100 percent of the Cargo Services Seafreight business.
The transaction involves DP World’s indirect acquisition of a majority stake in CN Logistics International Holdings Limited, a company listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. The deal, subject to certain regulatory approvals, marks a significant step for DP World as it seeks to expand its footprint in the logistics sector.
Under the terms of the agreement, DP World will purchase all the shares in Cargo Services Seafreight Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of CS Holdings. CS Holdings, in turn, is the sole shareholder of Cargo Services Seafreight Limited. Upon completion of the transaction, DP World will become the new controlling shareholder of CN Logistics International Holdings Limited.
The transaction, expected to close later this year, underscores DP World’s strategic vision to strengthen its position in the global supply chain market.
