Financecommunity Week 2022 kicks off. Diary of the opening day

FIRST DAY – 14 NOVEMBER 2022 

The Four Seasons hotel in Milan opens its gates to host the fourth edition of Financecommunity Week, the prestigious event brings together the community of finance professionals to discuss the hot topics of the sector.  

The week-long event serves as a platform for in-depth conversations around Italy’s thriving financial sector, industry trends, developments and innovation involving financial markets and global banking. 

The first day of Financecommunity Week 2022 began with the usual opening conference, this year entitled “Geopolitics economics & finance“. After the greetings  of Aldo Scaringella, managing director of LC Publishing, and the welcome message of Emmanuel Conte, councilor for the budget and real estate  of the Municipality of Milan, it was the opening speech by Pietro Carlo Padoan, chairman of the board of directors of Unicredit, that kicked off the work, followed by the keynote speech by Irene Tinagli, chairman of Parliament’s Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs. 
 

Following a quick coffee break, it was time for the first round table of the day, moderated by Nicola Di Molfetta of Financecommunity and MAG, with guest speakers Orlando Barucci, managing partner Vitale & Co;  Francesco Canzonieri, ceo and chairman of the Investment & ESG Committees Nextalia;  Gregorio Consoli, managing partner Chiomenti;  Giovanna Della Posta, ceo Invimit sgr; and Diva Moriani , executive vice chairman & chief of transformation office KME. 

The first morning of the week was ended by the speech from Mirja Cartia d’Asero, CEO Il Sole 24 Ore and the closing remarks by Fabrizio Pagani, senior advisor Vitale & Co. 
 

In the afternoon, from 2 pm, the work resumed with a round table entitled “Status of the debt markets: current situation and future outlook“. Under the moderation of Marcello Bragliani, partner Latham & Watkins, Alessia De Coppi, partner Latham & Watkins, Antonio Frizzi, managing director Leveraged Finance Capital Markets BNP Paribas, Martino Mauroner, executive director Private Debt Tikehau Capital and Alessandro Vangelisti, co-head of Investment Banking Coverage & Advisory Italy Deutsche Bank, had their say on the current state of the debt market. 
 

Closing the first day of Financecommunity Week 2022 was the round table moderated by Michela Cannovale, journalist of Financecommunity, entitled “The resilience of sustainability”. In which Julie Becker, Ceo Luxembourg Stock Exchange, Giovanni Gorno Tempini, chairman Cassa depositi e prestiti, Claudia Parzani, partner Linklaters and chairwoman of Borsa Italiana, and Anna Tavano, co-head of Global Banking Continental Europe and Head of Wholesale Banking Italy HSBC, discussed the topic in depth.
