CMS Facilitates EBRD and Meridiam’s Strategic Investment
International law firm, CMS has provided legal counsel to the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and Meridiam on their equity investment, alongside Hassan Allam Utilities, in HAU Energy BV. This newly established platform aims to invest in renewable energy projects primarily in Egypt, with potential expansion to other African countries.
The investment seeks to encourage private sector involvement in Egypt’s power sector and support the government’s decarbonization efforts by accelerating the development of renewable energy projects. This initiative will play a significant role in Egypt’s transition to green energy.
