Baker Botts hires Shane Wilson as New Projects Partner in Dubai
International law firm Baker Botts has welcomed Shane Wilson (pictured) as a partner in its Dubai office, further enhancing its Global Projects Department. With extensive experience in the Middle East, Africa, and beyond, Wilson brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise in advising clients on energy, technology, and life sciences projects and transactions.

Having been based in Dubai for over 16 years, Wilson has established himself as a trusted advisor in the region. His practice focuses on the development and financing of energy and infrastructure projects, encompassing sectors such as power, water, waste management, oil and gas, infrastructure, and transportation.
Throughout his career, Wilson has represented a diverse range of stakeholders, including lenders, governments, project sponsors, and project companies. He has worked on numerous projects across multiple jurisdictions, including those in the energy, utilities, oil and gas, infrastructure, and metals sectors. His comprehensive understanding of project development and financing enables him to provide valuable insights and strategic guidance to his clients.

Notably, Wilson has extensive experience advising on Shari’ah-compliant projects, working closely with sponsors and Islamic financiers to structure projects that adhere to Islamic principles.

Prior to joining Baker Botts, Wilson served as a partner at Squire Patton Boggs in Dubai for nearly six years. He also held a partner position at Wragge Lawrence Graham & Co for nine years. With a strong background in international law, Wilson has previously worked at prestigious firms such as Vinson & Elkins and Norton Rose Fulbright, further enriching his expertise and capabilities.
