Abdulaziz Albassam appointed as CLO for Saudi Arabian Military Industries
Saudi Arabian Military Industries (“SAMI”) has named its general counsel Abdulaziz Albassam (pictured) as its new chief legal officer and board secretary.
The chemical engineer turned lawyer joined SAMI from Saudi Aramco, where was senior counsel and a member of its Project Development & Finance team. During his time with Aramco, Albassam served as general counsel and corporate secretary at various Aramco subsidiaries both local and international, including Aramco Overseas Company B.V. (AOC) in The Hague and Aramco Overseas Company UK Limited (AOC UK) in London. He started his legal career in 2011 as an associate in the New York law practice of White & Case.
In addition to his extensive legal career, Albassam is currently chairman of the board of SAMI L3Harris Technologies, as well as an Inaugural member of the Saudi Leadership Society and the Misk 2030 Leaders Program and the president of Saudi Arabian Judo Federation.
