Waleed Shalaby named group head of legal for MOBH Group
Waleed Shalaby (pictured) has been appointed as group head of legal at Mohammad Omar Bin Haider Holding Group (“MOBH Group”), in what is his first role as an in-house counsel. Shalaby brings a wealth of experience to his new role, having held a number of senior positions in the legal industry over the past two decades.
With decades worth of knowledge gained from both public service and private practice roles under his belt, his wealth of experience will prove invaluable for his new role.
Shalaby started his career as a police officer – first lieutenant at Cairo Regional Crime Investigation Department before moving into public prosecution and then becoming a judge. After this, he went into private practice and joined Baker & McKenzie Habib Al Mulla as a senior lawyer. Where he provided high quality service and assistance to clients in wide variety of legal practices regarding criminal, civil, real estate, commercial and shipping litigation aspects.
In 2014 he transferred to Al Tamimi & Company where he started as a senior associate for litigation and financial crime practice handling various types of cases such as criminal, civil, commercial, construction and real estate. He later moved to the regional financial crime department where he handled different types of white-collar crime cases including money-laundering, extradition bribery fraud government corruption and breach of trust.
