Trowers teams up with Madaar to boost Oman’s startup ecosystem

International law firm Trowers & Hamlins (‘Trowers’) has entered into a memorandum of understanding with Madaar, a tech startup incubator based in Oman. This collaboration aims to enhance the legal support available to the local startup community. Trowers will contribute essential legal expertise through workshops, mentorship, and consultation sessions organized by Madaar to assist and empower startups.

Madaar, established in 2020, plays a pivotal role in nurturing entrepreneurs across the MENA region. By fostering connections among startups, building their capacities, and facilitating interaction with investors, Madaar creates an environment conducive to growth, funding, and collaboration. With a track record of aiding more than 400 startups in the MENA region, Madaar is committed to helping startups mitigate risks and achieve substantial scalability.

An innovative organization, Madaar holds the distinction of being the first recipient of the Virtual Accelerator license in Oman. The organization’s mission revolves around empowering startups to navigate challenges and achieve exponential growth.

Under the terms of the agreement, Trowers & Hamlins will be providing one-on-one consultation sessions and templates of agreements, and hosting workshops for Madaar’s community of start-ups.

Commenting on the agreement, Trowers & Hamlins’ Senior Associate Raya Al Harthy (pictured) said, “I am delighted to have reached an agreement with Madaar for Trowers to provide this essential legal learning to their entrepreneurs. Start-ups often lack access to first-class legal advice and support, and to be providing that to the brightest and best MENA entrepreneurs will be both a pleasure and an honour.”

Murooj Al Saadi, founder and CEO of Madaar added, “Trowers and Hamlins is a well-established and respected firm in the MENA region. To have access to their brilliant legal understanding and experience will be invaluable to our entrepreneurs. It will certainly give them a huge boost as they strive to grow their innovative businesses. Our vision is to provide MENA-based entrepreneurs with the tools they need to build scalable tech start-ups and businesses – Trowers’ input will definitely help us achieve that aim. I look forward to collaborating with Trowers and watching as it impacts positively on the many businesses that we are helping to nurture.”
