Spencer West opens new UAE office

Spencer West has opened a new location in the UAE, marking the firm’s debut in the Middle East. Senior Partner Simeon Spencer described the region as a “dynamic and rapidly evolving market.”

Four founding and managing partners will lead the new practice: Tarek Antaki, José Campos Nave (who will join in January 2026), Susan O’Rourke, and Ishtiaq Nawaz-Chechi.

The practice

The office will advise on matters of corporate M&A and tax, private equity, joint ventures, infrastructure (BOT/PPP), project finance, commercial and labour law, arbitration, compliance, and sovereign risk.

Sectors covered will include real estate, energy, oil and gas, LNG, chemicals, low carbon tech, aviation, Islamic finance, crypto assets, and AI infrastructure.
