Mubadala’s Sanad Extends Partnership with Asiana Airlines
Sanad, a global aerospace engineering and leasing solutions provider under Abu Dhabi’s Mubadala Investment Company (Mubadala), has strengthened its collaboration with Asiana Airlines, South Korea’s second-largest airline, through a five-year contract extension valued at USD 145 million (AED532 million). This reaffirms Sanad’s industry leadership and dedication to delivering top-tier Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) services for V2500 engines.
The announcement of this agreement took place at the esteemed MRO Americas event in Chicago, a premier gathering in the aerospace industry, drawing over 16,000 industry professionals.
Under the renewed contract, Sanad will continue servicing Asiana Airlines’ V2500 engine fleet utilizing its advanced facilities in Abu Dhabi. With Asiana Airlines operating a fleet exceeding 80 aircraft and offering extensive domestic and international passenger and cargo services across 80 global destinations, the partnership further solidifies Sanad’s position as the exclusive MRO provider for Asiana Airlines in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. This extension underscores Sanad’s status as a global leader in independent MRO services and prolongs the existing partnership with Asiana Airlines for another five years.
The V2500 engine, manufactured by International Aero Engines, has been pivotal in the aviation sector since 1989, powering over 7,600 Airbus A320 and A321ceo aircraft worldwide. Known for their reliability, efficiency, and performance, these engines serve approximately 150 operators across 80 countries.
