Nour El-Hajjaji

Nour El-Hajjaji: A tribute to mentor and advocate for justice 

Nour El-Hajjaji, a well-known lawyer in the Egyptian legal community, passed away a week ago, leaving a great void in the hearts of all who knew him. 

Nour’s contributions to the Egyptian legal community cannot be overstated. He was not only a respected and experienced lawyer but also a mentor and colleague to many lawyers, fresh graduates, and interns. He was always willing to share his knowledge and help others in any way he could. His passion for teaching and his desire to make a difference in the legal community will always be remembered. 

Nour was born on April 28, 1985, and graduated from the Faculty of Law, English Department, Cairo University in 2006. He was married and fathered three children. He had more than 14 years of experience and was a litigation lawyer and a certified legal instructor with reputable corporate experience, dealing with high complex commercial and civil litigation and arbitration cases. 

Nour’s services were retained by several top-tier law firms in Egypt for over ten years, and he had also been employed as a legal manager of a leading telecommunications company in Egypt. He specialized in providing legal advice under a variety of laws, risk management, and providing risk assessments reports, drafting a variety of commercial contracts and legal documents, and legal opinions to national and multinational clients. Even though his main experience was in dispute resolution, he took pride in teaching drafting contracts in several training institutions, in addition to well-known universities in Egypt. 

Nour had amassed a reputable experience and knowledge in the fields of dispute resolution, alternative dispute resolution. Moreover, he handled multiple legal disputes for several institutions, national and multinational companies where he advised clients on litigation and arbitration pre and post dispute matters. He was a passionate selfless individual who always made himself available to new lawyers, fresh graduates, and interns, as a colleague and mentor. 

He participated as an instructor and lecturer in several legal academies that prep fresh graduates to work in the legal field. Nour was a founder of The Legal Paladin since July 2018, providing legal services and sharing legal events around various topics from the perspective of law. 

Nour previously served as counsel and head of litigation at Dreny and Partners Law Firm, where he advised clients on litigation and arbitration pre and post-dispute matters.  

Managing Partner Motaz El Dreny Commented “I was deeply saddened to learn of Nour’s passing; he was a great asset to our firm and was regarded as an exceptional individual on all fronts; his passing is a great loss for the legal field on both an academic and professional level. I would like to extend my sincere condolences to his family and friends; may his soul rest in peace.

Nour Ahmad Shams Al-Din Mustafa El-Hajjaji was a remarkable lawyer who dedicated his career to serving his clients and mentoring new lawyers. He will always be remembered for his contributions to the legal community and his selfless attitude towards others. His family, friends, and colleagues mourn his loss and celebrate his life and legacy.
