Mohammed Aldowish is joining after leading Clyde & Co’s Saudi disputes practice
CMS, a global law firm, has announced its debut in Saudi Arabia by securing Mohammed Aldowish, a partner from Clyde & Co, to establish a new office in Riyadh. Aldowish, who led the disputes practice at Clyde & Co in Saudi Arabia for eight years, has joined CMS. The move to open an office in Saudi Arabia is seen as a natural expansion for CMS, as it has been working on matters related to the country for some time. The firm already has a presence in the Middle East with offices in Morocco, Oman, Israel, Turkey, and two in the UAE in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
Initially, Mohammed Aldowish will be the sole partner in the new Riyadh office, with support from an associate and the broader 50-strong Middle East team. CMS aims to grow the office to include 10 lawyers within the first year. The move is seen as a strategic step to provide local law capabilities to clients while maintaining an international-focused platform and demonstrating commitment to the Middle East region.
