Meysan Partners expands practice with launch of London office
Meysan Partners, an international law firm, has opened its first office outside the Middle East, located in London. The new office, called Meysan London, will focus on heavyweight commercial and investor-state disputes, bringing the firm’s international litigation and arbitration expertise to complex cross-border cases. Its services will cater to corporates, investors, funds, state-owned entities, and high-net-worth individuals seeking trusted legal representation for their most challenging disputes.
Founder Bader El-Jeaan commented: “We’re very proud of the success of our business in the region but international expansion has always been part of our ambition. As a highly evolved and exciting market, London is an obvious choice that our clients want us to explore. We are confident that this will solidify and strengthen our offering to enable us to better serve our clients with their most complex and challenging disputes.”
The London team will be led by John Reynolds (pictured), a highly experienced disputes expert who will serve as the London Managing Partner and Head of International Disputes for the entire firm. Reynolds has an impressive background, having spent over 30 years assisting clients in resolving complex legal problems, including his tenure as Head of the London Litigation Department and Global Co-Head of the Financial Institutions Practice at White & Case.
Meysan London aims to become a prominent destination firm for handling corporate and M&A disputes, investor-state arbitration, finance litigation, shareholder disputes, investigations, crisis management, fraud, competition litigation, and international commercial arbitration.
Reynolds comments: “After 30 years at some of the world’s leading law firms, I am excited to bring that experience to Meysan to help build a business with real focus and momentum. Now, more than ever, London is one of THE preferred locations for international litigation and arbitration, and remains a significant arena in international dealmaking. Couple that with the incredible pace of economic growth in the Middle East and its ascendency as a global powerhouse in business, and in law, and you have a unique market opportunity.”
With a successful track record of revenue growth in the Middle East, Meysan intends to replicate its rapid progress in London. The firm plans to attract top legal talent in the city to build a team that can meet the demands of the region’s increasing legal requirements, particularly in the realms of deals and disputes.
Founded in January 2015 by Bader El-Jeaan and Abdul Aziz Al-Yaqout, Meysan is known for its high-quality legal advice provided by a team of skilled Arabic, English, and French-speaking lawyers. The firm has already established offices in seven locations: Abu Dhabi, Beirut, Cairo, Dubai, Kuwait, London, and Riyadh, and has grown its staff to over 140 professionals.
Overall, the launch of Meysan London represents a significant step for the firm’s global expansion plans and reflects its dedication to offering top-tier legal services to clients facing complex and challenging disputes.
