Dentsu Acquires 100% Stake in Egyptian Subsidiary
Matouk Bassiouny & Hennawy (MBH) has acted as legal counsel to Dentsu in the acquisition of a 100% stake in its Egyptian subsidiary, Dentsu Creative for Media and Advertising Services S.A.E. (Dentsu Egypt).
In 2016, Dentsu Aegis Network Ltd. had acquired a 51% stake in Dentsu Egypt, integrating it into the digital marketing agency Isobar, a key member of Dentsu’s global network brands.
According to the press release, the acquisition will enable Dentsu to enhance its scale and capabilities in the digital domain and strengthen its presence in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) market, which is expected to grow rapidly in the coming years. Dentsu Egypt offers a range of services, including creative, media, digital, social, and content solutions, to clients across various sectors, such as automotive, banking, FMCG, and telecom.
With this full acquisition of Dentsu Egypt, Dentsu aims to become the leading agency group in terms of scale and capabilities in the digital domain, thereby strengthening the Group’s foundations and presence in the rapidly growing MENA market.
The MBH team advising on the transaction was led by Omar Bassiouny, Founding Partner and Group Head of Corporate and M&A, and included Associate Omar Al Fadaly.
