Day 4
The 4th and final day of Legalcommunity Week 2025 is marked by intense sessions. The morning was dedicated to international arbitration and mediation, with an analysis of the evolution of arbitration and mediation practices in unstable geopolitical contexts.
At the first roundtable, focused on arbitration in times of turbulence and moderated by Stefano Azzali, general director of the Milan Chamber of Arbitration, the participants were: Barbara Benzoni, Head of Legal of the International Mid-Downstream and Chemical activities at Eni; Cristina Dumitrita Milincianu, Senior Legal Counsel at Baker Hughes; Marlen Estévez Sanz, Partner and board member of RocaJunyent, as well as president and founder of Women in a Legal World (WLW); Paolo Marzolini, Founding Partner of Patocchi & Marzolini (Geneva); Milo Molfa, Partner at McDermott Will & Emery (London); Omar Puertas, Partner at Cuatrecasas (Madrid); Eduard Saura, Managing Partner for Spain and Latin America at Accuracy.
The second panel, which delved into the topic of mediation, featured Elisa Billi, Head of Mediations – Litigation & ADR at Intesa Sanpaolo; Nicolas Bourdon, Partner at Accuracy; Fabio Fagioli, Group General Counsel at Maire; Antonietta Marsaglia, mediator and lawyer at Studio legale Marsaglia; Laura Rigo, Head of Legal at HP Italy; Joe Tirado, mediator and arbitrator at JAMS (London); Agnė Tvaronavičienė, professor at Mykolas Romeris University in Vilnius. The discussion was led by Giuseppe De Paolo, mediator and arbitrator at JAMS (New York).
Lunch break
The afternoon is characterized by three parallel roundtables focusing on: artificial intelligence and criminal law; inclusion and diversity in the profession; and the role of legal professionals in the banking and financial sectors. The topics addressed reflect the major ethical, technological, and social challenges of contemporary law.
At the conference on AI, investigations, and legal procedures, moderated by Armando Simbari (partner at Simbari Avvocati Penalisti), the participants are Fabio Bertoni, General Counsel of The New Yorker; Fabio Cangiano, Head of Legal at PostePay; Federico Dal Poz, Chief Legal Officer at Amplifon; Giuseppe Di Franco, CEO of Lutech; Daniele Alessandro Luison, Group Legal, Litigation at UniCredit; and Giuliano Tavaroli, Senior Advisor at Strategic Risk Consulting.
Michela Cannovale, journalist at Inhousecommunity.it and MAG, leads the discussion on D&I in the legal profession, which includes Daniele Ciccolo, Head of Legal Affairs at Telepass; Ilaria De Benedictis, Head of Legal & Institutional Affairs at Manifatture Sigaro Toscano; Marlen Estévez Sanz, Partner and board member of RocaJunyent, as well as president and founder of Women in a Legal World (WLW); Pietro Galizzi, Head of Legal, Regulatory & Compliance Affairs at Eni Plenitude Società Benefit; Maria Mariniello, Group Head of Corporate Affairs at doValue; Flavia Maria Tavasci, Senior Legal and Compliance Counsel – South Europe Area at BAT; Isabella Toth, Director of Legal and Corporate Affairs at Hewlett Packard Enterprise; Micaela Vescia, Chief of Corporate and Legal Affairs at Azienda Trasporti Milanesi.
At the parallel panel on AI, compliance and M&A, participants includes Paola Barometro, Partner at Hogan Lovells; Giuseppe Catalano, Company Secretary and Head of Corporate Affairs at Assicurazioni Generali; Simone Davini, Head of Legal & Corporate Affairs at Crédit Agricole Corporate & Investment Bank; Giovanni Lombardi, deputy CEO and General Counsel at Illimity Bank; Paolo Mazza, Chief General Counsel at Bper Banca; and Pierfilippo Verzaro, General Counsel at Iccrea Banca. The discussion is moderated by Patrizio Messina, managing partner at Hogan Lovells, while closing remarks were delivered by Ferigo Foscari, Partner at Hogan Lovells.
To close the week, the musical event ‘Rock the Law’ will be held at Magazzini Generali: an evening blending live music, informal networking and fun with the international legal community, a symbol of the dynamic and international spirit of Legalcommunity Week. The perfect conclusion to a week that brought together more than a thousand professionals from all over the world.
About Legalcommunity Week 2025
From June 9th to 13th, Milan hosts the 9th edition of Legalcommunity Week, the event dedicated to the Italian and international legal community. This year, more than 20 discussion opportunities take place at the Hotel Principe di Savoia in Piazza della Repubblica: conferences, roundtables, keynote speeches, and debates on the most pressing issues for the legal profession and the business world.
