King & Spalding advises on Abu Dhabi energy acquisition and decarbonisation agreements
King & Spalding advised Abu Dhabi National Energy Company PJSC (TAQA) and Dubal Holding on the acquisition of Emirates Global Aluminium’s (EGA) Al Taweelah 3.1GW combined cycle gas-fired plant for USD $1.9 billion – approximately AED 7 billion.
Moreover, the firm supported Emirates Water and Electricity Company (EWEC) on a series of agreements with respect to the decarbonisation of EGA’s aluminium production and the expansion of renewable and clean energy development in Abu Dhabi. The agreements in question were signed earlier this week and are expected to close shortly.
