Islam Shalall joins Abdeen&Co as deputy managing partner
Sudan based law firm; Abdeen&Co welcomed Islam Shalall (pictured) to its executive committee as the firm’s new deputy managing partner. Reporting to the firm’s managing partner Mohamed Abdeen, she will oversee corporate, commercial as well as arbitration matters and cases.
With over a decade of legal experience, Shalall’s expertise focuses on corporate law and contract management, corporate tax, banking and Islamic finance in addition to commercial litigation, cost and project control and corporate governance.
With over a decade of legal experience, Shalall joined the firm from Japan Tobacco International (“JTI”) where she led the MENAT Region legal team serving as legal director for more than a year. Prior to that, she was senior legal counsel at Huawei Technologies, for Sudan and South Sudan, a role she held for five and a half years. During her time with Huawei, Shalall worked in coordination with various business departments and the executive leadership team. She also represented the company before Sudan government bodies and Courts. Her earlier experience included working for six years at White Nile (5B) Petroleum Operating Company, serving initially as a contract assistant-supply chain and procurement department in Khartoum, Sudan and later as legal officer in Juba, South Sudan. Her legal career started as a legal associate at Allied Attorneys where she acquired a year and a half of experience, supporting attorneys in all trial preparation and proceedings.
