Hogan Lovells closes in Johannesburg, Sydney and Warsaw

As reported by Global Legal Post and American Lawyer, Miguel Zaldivar (pictured left), Hogan Lovells’CEO, announced on September 12th, its decision to wind down operations in Johannesburg, Sydney, and Warsaw, and that will close these offices in the coming months.

He commented on this decision stating:

Closing these three offices was a difficult decision, but one that was needed so that we can continue our path to achieve transformational growth and drive greater success – particularly in London, New York, California, Texas, Washington, D.C., and key international markets. This is part of our ambitious vision and strategic approach to continue to grow as a financially integrated global firm.

Johannesburg office

Hogan Lovells opened in in Johannesburg in December 2013, merging with the south african law firm Routledge Modise.

A&O Shearman has also recently closed its Johannesburg office as part of a post-merger reorganization. You can read more about this decision by clicking here.
