Gibson Dunn promotes new partner in Dubai

Dubai-based Sameera Kimatrai (pictured) is among the 42 lawyers Gibson Dunn elected to its partnership, effective January 1, 2026 — the largest partner class in the firm’s history.

The profile

A member of the  fintech and digital assets team, Sameera Kimatrai specialises in the regulation of financial services, fintech, and digital assets. She regularly advises governments, regulators, and financial institutions on complex regulatory issues across the Middle East region.

Kimatrai started her legal career at Linklaters, in London. In 2017, she moved to Allen & Overy’s Dubai office. Prior to joining Gibson Dunn, she served as a senior legal counsel at Binance.
