Gateley Middle East appoints new head of disputes

Gateley Middle East has expanded its partnership with the appointment of Alim Khamis (pictured) as head of disputes in Dubai.

Prior to joining Gateley, Alim Khamis served as partner and head of office at Charles Russell Speechlys’ Doha location, a position he held from 2023 until the end of 2025. Before that, he worked at Dentons, where he progressed from Associate to Senior Associate and ultimately to Partner.

In his new role, Khamis will focus on enhancing and expanding the firm’s existing dispute resolution capabilities across arbitration, litigation, mediation and dispute avoidance. His responsibilities will include advising both existing and new clients on disputes in the construction, commercial, energy and real estate sectors. He will also work across the region to support clients and provide strategic advice on risk assessment, cross-border contentious matters and enforcement issues.
