Farmida Bi Re-elected Chair at Norton Rose Fulbright
Global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright has announced the re-election of Farmida Bi, CBE, for a third term as Chair for Europe, Middle East, and Asia.
Farmida, a distinguished partner in the banking and finance team and Head of Islamic Finance, Europe, will commence her third term on May 1, 2024, serving for a three-year tenure.
In her role as Chair, Farmida will spearhead various strategic initiatives, focusing on bolstering client relationships, promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), advocating sustainability, and fostering community engagement.
Expressing her gratitude, Farmida remarked, “I’m thrilled to continue as Chair and thank everyone at the firm for their support. It is an honour to continue working with our people, our clients and our charity and community partners to drive forward a range of client, DEI and social impact initiatives.”

With over 25 years of experience in capital markets and Islamic finance transactions, Farmida remains actively involved in advising clients across a diverse range of areas including sovereign bonds and programmes, project bonds, Islamic finance, restructurings, and regulatory matters.
In recognition of her outstanding service to the legal profession and charitable endeavors, Farmida was appointed a CBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours in 2020.
