Al Kamel Law Firm Advises MIZUHA in Egyptian Water Project
Egypt takes a significant leap towards water sustainability with the announcement of a partnership agreement between the Ministry of Military Production of the Arab Republic of Egypt (MOMP) and Japanese firm MIZUHA Co., Ltd. The collaboration, facilitated by Al Kamel law firm led by Partner Shahira Khaled (pictured right) and Senior Attorney Nada Mohamed (pictured left), aims to mass-produce the revolutionary ‘KuSui’ device effective February 25, 2024.
Designed to generate drinking water from the air, the KuSui device utilizes cutting-edge Japanese technology and will be manufactured by the ministry’s Helwan Metal Hardware Company (Factory 360). With over 70% of its components sourced locally, the device marks a significant achievement in Egypt’s pursuit of self-sufficiency in water production.
Minister of State for Military Production, Mohamed Salah, emphasized the meticulous development process spanning over a year, culminating in the signing ceremony. The prototype, assembled last year under the supervision of a Japanese technical team, showcases the device’s capability to produce 16 litres of clean drinking water daily.
Beyond catering to domestic demand, the ministry intends to export the KuSui device to other Arab and African nations, leveraging Egypt’s strategic location. MIZUHA’s chairman expressed the company’s commitment to meeting Egypt’s market needs while capitalizing on the nation’s position as a gateway to regional export opportunities.
