Matouk Bassiouny & Hennawy successfully secures CRCICA arbitral award
Matouk Bassiouny & Hennawy (“MBH”) Arbitration Group has successfully secured a favorable CRCICA arbitral award for The Producers Films, an Egyptian market pioneer in the film & media production industry, against one of the top TV & radio networks in the Middle East.
The dispute arose from broadcasting agreements of two well-known series aired a few years ago. The opponent committed breaches of the broadcasting agreement and declined to pay the client’s dues. The opponent in turn filed a counterclaim against the firm’s client amounting to EGP 50,000,000.
The Arbitral Tribunal found in favour of the client, awarding them 100% of its unpaid dues plus an interest rate of 5%. The Arbitral Tribunal has further dismissed, in full, the counterclaim against the Producers.
