CMS appoints Ken Wong as a partner in Riyadh

CMS appointed Ken Wong (pictured) as a partner in its Riyadh office. Wong joins from Clyde & Co – where he worked as a legal director – and brings with him extensive expertise in technology, media and telecommunications (TMT) procurement, outsourcing and commercial projects and transactions.

Ken Wong’s career path

With over 12 years’ experience across Australia, the UK and the Middle East, Wong has advised leading local and international banks, financial institutions, insurers, government entities, technology providers, and professional services companies. He works on large-scale TMT projects and transactions, including software licensing and development, hardware and infrastructure, cloud and data centre services, platform development and commercialisation, and commercial supply and distribution arrangements.

About the appointment

Adrian Bell, CMS partner and Joint Managing Director for the Middle East and Asia, commented on the appointment stating: “TMT is a key growth area for the firm and for Saudi Arabia. With our investment in our Riyadh office, it is vital to have credible TMT capabilities on the ground to effectively serve our clients’ needs, especially given the significant investment programmes underway in Saudi Arabia. Ken brings deep international experience and a strong local reputation, and his arrival will ensure that we are able to meet the demands of the market.”

Wong’s appointment follows the addition of Rizwan Osman as head of corporate at CMS Riyadh and the relocation of legal director Jay Randhawa to Riyadh earlier this year. The firm has been making significant strides since opening its Riyadh office in October 2023, coinciding with the appointment of managing partner for CMS Riyadh, Mohammed Aldowish.
