CMA Terminals Holding to operate and manage Trans Misr Terminal
French container transportation and shipping company CMA CGM Group via its subsidiary CMA Terminals Holding has signed a definitive terminal service agreement and a terminal operating agreement for Alexandria’s Port’s Trans Misr Terminal (“TMT”).
Under both agreements, CMA CGM will provide shipping and unloading services for shipping line containers for TMT and will operate/manage TMT with the Egyptian Group For Multipurpose Terminals (“EGMPT”) through their joint venture company, established for that purpose.
The terminal, which covers an area of 560,000 square meters with quays of over 2 km in length, will have a capacity of around 1,5 million TEUs (Twenty Foot Equivalent Units) and will facilitate the deployment of the Group’s larger vessels.
