Clyde & Co Advises Informa on Formation of Strategic Joint Venture

Global law firm Clyde & Co has advised Informa Middle East Limited on the sale of a stake in its subsidiary, Tahaluf Events Limited, to the Events Investment Fund (EIF) and Union Company For Exhibitions and Conferences. The latter is owned by the Saudi Federation for Cyber Security, Programming, and Drones (SAFCSP). This move has led to the creation of a strategic joint venture (JV) that aligns with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 of diversifying the economy.

The JV, Tahaluf, will leverage Informa’s global expertise to expand the events sector in Saudi Arabia. This expansion is expected to further advance economic diversification, provide access to new markets for international businesses, attract foreign investment, and support the modernisation of business activity. Tahaluf will replace Informa’s existing operations in Saudi Arabia.

Clyde & Co acted as lead counsel to Informa, with the team led by partner Rizwan Osman and senior associate Shahd Makhafah, both based in Riyadh. They were supported by associate Fahad Almojel and trainee Alanoud Alassaf.

With over 30 years of experience in the Middle East and Africa, Clyde & Co is one of the largest international law firms in the region, with over 90 partners and 540 staff operating through nine offices in Abu Dhabi, Cairo, Cape Town, Dar es Salaam, Doha, Dubai, Johannesburg, Nairobi, and Riyadh. The firm supports international and local organisations throughout the wider region with a full-service offering of local specialists across most business sectors and areas of law.
