Clyde & Co adds partner Omar Khattab in Dubai

Clyde & Co has appointed Omar Khattab (pictured) as a partner in its white-collar crime & sanctions team, based in Dubai. He joins from Norton Rose Fulbright and will expand the firm’s regulatory & investigations (R&I) services across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Egypt.

The move follows Clyde & Co’s recent launch of a dedicated R&I capability in the Americas, with the appointment of Jeff Cottle and his team from Eversheds. Cottle has been named head of regulatory & investigations, white-collar crime and sanctions for the Americas, as well as co-head of white-collar crime and sanctions for EMEA.

Profile and expertise

Khattab is a financial crime specialist with a practice spanning regulatory investigations and compliance, risk management, and asset recovery. He has worked extensively across the MENA region, with particular focus on the UAE and Saudi Arabia, and has experience in Egypt, Kuwait, Qatar, Oman, Bahrain, Iraq, and Libya. His asset recovery work covers international financial centres including the US, UK, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Canada.

The comment

Sam Tate, partner and global head of regulatory & investigations at Clyde & Co, noted that expanding the R&I offering is a strategic priority for the firm as clients face increasingly complex cross-border risks.
