CastaldiPartners in Algeria with training project

CastaldiPartners signed an agreement to launch a professional training project for young lawyers in Algeria. The firm partnered with the Algiers Bar Association, presided by Mohamed Baghdadi (pictured – first from the left), and with the Bentoumi Law Firm, represented by founding partner Mohamed Bentoumi (pictured – second from the left).

The Enrico Mattei Room of the Italian Embassy in Algiers welcomed the signing of the agreement. Present the Italian ambassador Alberto Cutillo (pictured – standing), with CastaldiPartners partners Enrico Castaldi (pictured – third from the left), and Fabio Moretti (pictured – last on the right).

The deal must be understood in the context of the Mattei Plan, a foreign policy strategy with a specific African focus. Launched in January 2024 by the Italian government, the plan recognizes Algeria as a country of primary importance for Italian interests and for the development of common projects. Consequently, the professional training program in Italy for young Algerian lawyers offered by the firm satisfies a provision of the Mattei Plan which makes professional training a cornerstone of the project. A move that will further develop CastaldiPartners assistance and consulting activities for European companies present or with investment projects in Algeria.

The scheme involves the Algiers Bar Association which will identify, with special consideration for gender equality, eligible young Algerian lawyers to participate in the selection process for access to the professional training program. After the final selection, carried out by CastaldiPartners, the chosen candidates will participate in professional training periods that will take place at CastaldiPartners’ Milan offices.

The Algiers Bar Association, represented by its president Mohamed Baghdadi, is one of the most important on the African continent. Its lawyers, particularly those specializing in corporate and business law, play an important role in international trade and the development of the Algerian economy.
