Baker McKenzie with Suez Wind Energy on $1.1b financing
Helmy Hamza & Partners Baker McKenzie Cairo has advised Suez Wind Energy, a joint venture between ACWA Power and Hassan Allam Utilities, on the USD 1.1 billion financing secured to develop a 1.1 GW wind farm located in Egypt’s Gulf of Suez.
The project, financed by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, African Development Bank, the OPEC Fund, Arab Petroleum Investment Corporation, British International Investment, DEG – Deutsche Investitions – und Entwicklungsgesellschaft Mbh, the Bank of New York Mellon, Commercial International Bank Egypt (CIB) and other banks and financial institutions.
