Baker McKenzie: Adil Hussain new Global Head of Islamic Finance 

Global law firm Baker McKenzie has expanded its presence in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) with the appointment of Adil Hussain (pictured) as Partner and Head of the Banking & Finance practice. Additionally, Hussain will assume the role of Global Head of Islamic Finance.  

Adil Hussain officially joined the firm’s UAE offices on September 11, 2023, following his tenure as a partner and Global Head of Islamic Finance at Clyde & Co. 

The appointment also coincides with the firm’s office move to the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) effective today, 18 September 2023.

With an impressive career spanning over 18 years in the Middle East, Hussain has garnered extensive experience in advising renowned lenders and sponsors in substantial banking and finance transactions.

The hire of Adil Hussain comes after a number of recent lateral appointments in the Middle East region, including Tina Hsieh (Tax), Luka KristovicBlazevic (Dispute Resolution), Khaled Zowayed (Real Estate) and Sahal Khalawi (Regulatory and Public Policy).
