Baker McKenzie appoints Philip Clarke as a partner in Dubai
Baker McKenzie expands its banking & finance practice group in Dubai, with the appointment of Philip Clarke (pictured) as a financial regulatory partner.
Moving from Stephenson Harwood, Clarke often advises financial institutions on complex regulatory frameworks, including cross-border compliance and supervisory matters.
Clarke’s legal career
Philip Clarke began his legal career in 2007 at Simmons & Simmons. Two years later, he joined Barclays as legal counsel. He subsequently held roles at Herbert Smith Freehills and Cahill Gordon & Reindel in London. After relocating to Dubai, he served as in-house counsel at the Dubai Financial Services Authority (DFSA), to eventually join Stephenson Harwood, where he worked until his recent move to Baker McKenzie.
