Baker Botts appoints Rakan Alyusuf and Chad Passlow to the partnership

Effective January 1st 2026, and as part of its global promotion round, Baker Botts appointed Riyadh-based corporate lawyer Rakan Alyusuf (pictured left) and Abu Dhabi-based global projects lawyer Chad Passlow (pictured right) as partners.

Rakan Alyusuf

Rakan Alyusuf’s practice spans corporate and capital markets transactional and regulatory matters. He advises on M&A transactions, joint venture structures, and corporate governance, as well as labor and employment matters. Moreover,  Alyusuf often represents clients in merger control filings and other antitrust issues before the Saudi Arabian General Authority for Competition.

Chad Passlow

Having previously held senior in-house roles at GE Power, Pacific Partnerships and Adnoc Group, Chad Passlow advises on regional and international energy and infrastructure transactions across the oil and gas, renewable and gas-fired power generation, e-fuels, CC(U)S, petrochemicals, and critical social and economic infrastructure sectors.
