A&O Shearman announces two new partners in Dubai
A&O Shearman announced the promotion to partnership of Richard Chamberlain (pictured left) and Mike Campbell (pictured right), both from the energy, natural resources and infrastructure area, and both active in the Dubai office. Effective May 1st 2025, the two promotions fall within the firm’s appointment of 33 new partners across 11 of its practice areas, in 16 different offices throughout 11 countries.
Richard Chamberlain
Richard Chamberlain is a project development and construction lawyer with over a decade of experience in the Middle East. He regularly advises governments, developers, lenders, and contractors on their large-scale project development, with a particular focus on energy, digital infrastructure, and traditional infrastructure.
Chamberlain’s expertise also spans public-private partnerships (PPPs) and project financings across a diverse array of sectors, including power, utilities, social infrastructure, data centres, transport, oil and gas, and petrochemicals.
Mike Campbell
Mike Campbell is a senior projects, energy, and infrastructure lawyer based in Dubai, where he relocated from the firm’s London office in 2017.
An expert in project and infrastructure financings and refinancings, throughout his career Campbell has advised a diverse clientele across the EMEA region, including sponsors, lenders, and procurers on a plethora of assets within the energy, infrastructure, and industrial areas.
His sectorial expertise spans the oil and gas, petrochemicals, energy transition, power and renewables, with a focus on social, transport and digital infrastructure, natural resources, and industrial projects. Moreover, Campbell has been active in the legaltech world, leading a team that developed an AI-assisted Covid-19 contract review platform.
