CMS advises on Aldar Properties’ partnership with Nobu Hospitality 

International law firm CMS has advised UAE’s real estate developers and managers Aldar Properties (“Aldar”) on its exclusive partnership with Nobu Hospitality to develop a new luxury hotel, branded residences, and a fine dining experience to anchor Aldar’s Mamsha Al Saadiyat in Abu Dhabi.  

The agreement will see Aldar develop the 5-star hotel featuring 165 guest rooms and suites, including a rooftop Nobu Villa. Expected to open in 2026. Alongside the hotel, the planned development includes one of the first branded Nobu Residences in the Middle East. 

CMS advised Aldar on all aspects of the transaction, from the initial structuring phases through to completion with a team led by John O’Connor (partner, corporate, pictured left) and Geoff Smith (partner and head of real estate Dubai, pictured right) supported by Kiren Matharu (senior associate, corporate) and Mai Marshad (associate, real estate).
