Ahmed Zekry appointed as head of legal at Banque Misr

Banque Misr has appointed Dubai-based Ahmed Zekry (pictured) as its new head of legal managing international branches. Zekry joined the executive management team and reports to Mr. Khaled El-Bialy, Banque Misr CEO in UAE. 

Zekry has joined Banque Misr from Emirates Development Bank where he most recently served as head of legal and compliance, a role he has held since 2017. Prior to that, he was vice president at Mashreq Bank for 5 years. Earlier in his career Zekry practiced law in various jurisdictions in Egypt, Qatar, Bahrain and UAE where he worked at investment banks including Ahli Bank QSC, Qatar and Commercial International Bank, Egypt.
