ADIO and Western Australia Forge Economic Partnership
The Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO) strengthens Abu Dhabi’s ties with Western Australia through collaboration with the Department of Jobs, Tourism, Science, and Innovation. This partnership aims to foster economic growth by exploring shared interests and opportunities in various sectors, including mining, startups, and small-to-medium-sized businesses.
The agreement focuses on cross-sector activities such as supply chain development, advanced manufacturing, science innovation, and environmental governance.
The UAE stands as Australia’s largest trade and investment partner in the Middle East, with bilateral trade reaching US$9.3 billion in 2022. Additionally, Australia’s participation at Expo 2020 Dubai facilitated crucial engagements for its companies with partners from the Middle East and South Asia. Talks for a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) between the UAE and Australia began in 2023, underscoring their commitment to deeper economic collaboration. Notably, the UAE hosts nearly 16,000 Australian expatriates.
