ADIO and Dustour Marine: Boosting Maritime Tourism in Abu Dhabi
Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO) has entered into a strategic partnership with Dustour Marine Wooden Boats Trading Establishment to spearhead a groundbreaking project aimed at bolstering the Emirate’s coastal development and fostering maritime tourism. The collaboration, marked by a Musataha agreement, was unveiled during the second edition of the Al Multaqa meetings hosted by the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development (ADDED), focusing on empowering Abu Dhabi’s family offices to drive economic growth.
The ambitious venture, located in Rabadan, introduces the Al Jaddaf project, a sprawling 79,595 square meter initiative designed to cater to various maritime needs. Among its features, the project will offer specialized infrastructure for boat maintenance and repair, facilitate boat transactions, supply fishing essentials, provide extensive parking facilities, accommodate boat storage, host dining and shopping amenities, and even feature a motel. Furthermore, the project will incorporate a dedicated berth capable of accommodating 36 boats at any given time.
Mansoor Al Bastaki, Head of Musataha at ADIO, expressed pride in the collaboration, emphasizing its pivotal role in serving coastal communities and advancing Abu Dhabi’s maritime agenda. “The new Al Jaddaf project underscores the significance of serving coastal regions and will play a key role in supporting Abu Dhabi’s maritime activities and in promoting tourism in the Emirate,” Al Bastaki stated.
Aligned with the Abu Dhabi Urban Planning Council’s Interim Coastal Development Guidelines and the Tourism Strategy 2030, the project aims to leverage Abu Dhabi’s unique coastal assets to attract visitors and boost economic prosperity. By providing comprehensive amenities and services, including a boat slipway and fuel station, Al Jaddaf aspires to emerge as a premier destination for maritime enthusiasts and investors alike.
Mousa Khalfan Faraj Al Mehairbi, Business Development Manager at Dustour Marine Wooden Boats Trading Est., emphasized the multifaceted benefits of the collaboration. “This collaboration goes beyond just serving the needs of local boat owners and fishermen. The project will also boast a boat slipway and a convenient fuel station, making Al Jaddaf a one-stop shop for both residents and tourists,” Al Mehairbi noted.
In addition to fostering economic growth, the partnership exemplifies ADIO’s commitment to supporting communities and driving key initiatives across Abu Dhabi. Through a pipeline of Musataha projects, ADIO aims to facilitate growth opportunities and stimulate investment in the Emirate.
