Eversheds Sutherland’s new partners: Mike Rainey & Asal Saghari
Eversheds Sutherland has expanded its Dubai partnership with the appointments of finance and restructuring specialists Mike Rainey (pictured left) and Asal Saghari (pictured right). Both join the firm from King & Spalding.
Mike Rainey
Mike Rainey is a banking specialist whose practice covers real estate finance, corporate lending, and special situations. He advises lenders, borrowers, and sponsors, with a particular focus on real estate investment and development in the Gulf and Europe. He also represents lender and borrower clients in both in-court and out-of-court restructurings in the Middle East—particularly in Saudi Arabia and the UAE—as well as in the UK.
Rainey began his legal career at Dewey & LeBoeuf. Prior to joining Eversheds Sutherland, he spent twenty-one years at King & Spalding, from 2004 to 2025, working in both London and Dubai.
Asal Saghari
Asal Saghari focuses on private credit and frequently advises on domestic and cross-border private credit financing transactions for regional and international lenders and investors. Her core practice involves advising lenders and borrowers on complex banking and finance matters.
She began her career as a trainee solicitor at Barclays in London and later worked at Clifford Chance from 2005 to 2008. Before joining Eversheds Sutherland, she spent seventeen years at King & Spalding, dividing her time between London and Dubai.
