Dentons promotes two new partners in Dubai

On May 1st, Dentons will promote Faris Shehabi (pictured left) and Hazel Shakur Quinn (pictured right) to its Dubai partnership line-up. Their promotion falls within a cohort of 10 newly made partners across the firm’s UK, Ireland and Middle East (UKIME) region.

Hazel Shakur Quinn

Hazel Shakur Quinn is a lawyer and entrepreneur specialising in real estate matters. Within that legal area, she advised a diverse clientele of  Middle East sovereign wealth funds, family offices, tech companies, developers and investors, as well as international businesses.

Shakur Quinn started her legal career at Herbert Smith Freehills in 2006. In 2015, she moved to co-found CSQ, a Dubai-based independent firm of chartered surveyors, project managers and engineers, where she worked as a partner until 2017. She subsequently covered senior roles in the UAE, respectively at Berwin Leighton Paisner, BCLP, and Dentons Middle East.

Faris Shehabi

Faris Shehabi is a specialist in cross border arbitration and litigation, a legal area he covered for over 5 years across the Middle East and Asia. His sectorial experience spans offshore energy and construction, maritime, international trade and commercial transactions. Moreover,  Shehabi has handled disputes before the ICC, DIFC-LCIA, DIAC, HKIAC, SIAC, CIETAC and LMAA, as well before the courts of England, Singapore, Hong Kong and Australia.

In 2018, after 12 years of career, he made his legal debut in the MENA region as associate in dispute resolution at HFV in Dubai (2018 to 2020), right after covering the same position at the firm’s Shanghai office (2015 to 2018).  In 2020, Shehabi joined Ince & Co in Dubai as a managing associate. He then transitioned to Dentons Middle East, initially as a senior associate, and from now on as a partner.
